I never saw myself as a blogger. As a matter of fact, it never occurred to me that this form of mass communication was something I would find myself using, much less liking. No, I don’t live under a rock, and yes, I had heard of blogs (mainly in movies), but I never had it in me to actually visit a blog site until my former student shared a link to hers. It was then that I fell in love with the concept of writing about “things” that interested me, and possibly even sharing it with others around the world. Although, I’ll be realistic, and accept the fact that my husband might be the only one reading this. And I’m okay with that. However, if there are others out there that accidentally stumble across my prose, I’ll be okay with that too.
My blog, I’ve decided, will be about everything and anything really. I’ve decided to use it as a journal, which in itself is quite ironic. As a teen, when most fragile young minds decide to record their every emotion and thought in a little pink book, “brilliantly secured” by a plastic lock, and “cleverly” hidden under the mattress, I chose not to. I always thought it was foolish to have a written record of one’s most secret desires and fascinations so readily available for any peeping tom that comes across it. Anyways, I have decided to journal, which if you think about it is pretty much what most individuals do now using social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter. And don’t get me started on Snap Chat and Instagram, which by the way I do use.
Now, back to the everything and anything I wrote about earlier. I’m 30 something years old. I was raised in a small town in south Texas with a certain set of values, traditions, and beliefs. God is the cornerstone of everything that I deem important and sacred. I am a happily married woman of 9 years, and I have two beautiful children. Caleb is 6, and Alina is 3 months.
I welcome you to take a peek into my life as I continue to understand and rediscover who I am as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and most importantly, Child of the one true King.
